A prankster overnight put some sort of red substance into the water fountain at the park, according to Fairmount Park Commission chief of staff Barry Bessler: "We don't know if it was a red dye or whatever, but it turned all the water in the fountain a bright pinkish red." Bessler says crews went out and began replacing the water quickly: "This is an act of vandalism similiar to someone spray-painting graffiti on a wall." Love Park, at 15th and JFK Boulevard, has been subjected to occasional graffiti ever since the Street administration banned all skateboarding there. The plaza had until then been a skateboarding mecca. Bessler says the red-stained water will be analyzed by the Health Department, but he believes there is no damage to the fountain.

Tracing dye a little goes a long way. http://www.benmeadows.com/store/product_group.asp?dept_id=2068&cat_prefix=3WB It is easy and fun.

It's really funny, the city will not let them skateboard in Love Park. BUT when the X-games were in town. Thats where they held the skateboarding event! Anything for the city to make money.
