You can bet the farm that NOT ONE person like Dr. John Lott of "More Guns, Less Crime" will be asked to give his two cents!  No way.

So how long till SWAT moves in with their armored cars?  Or will they just wait until the shooter gets bored with killing or runs out of targets and offs himself?

If SWAT really wants to make sure the building is safe, they'd better just burn it down.  That way, they'll be sure to get the shooter.

At this time, it appears no one has been killed, only 3 wounded.  2 of them students.  1 shot in the back (killed or wounded?), 1 shot in the buttocks, and 1 other person shot (killed or wounded?) related to the incident.  The big story now are the charges against Johnny bin Walker.  3:35 EST.

There is a CLinton co., and it is pretty far up there...bill lives in westchester, the first co. north of NYC

I just saw the report on TV.  The shooting was in the "Upper West Side of Manhattan".  That is in NYC, where all guns are banned...especially handguns (they said a .380 "automatic" was used).

That only happens if Janet is in town for a BBQ.

so far, the news is pretty quiet about this and i hope it stays that way.

i don't know if this is related to our incident or not, but the timeing is interesting isnt it..

btw, after the mlk thing i was told that the cops finally arrested two students, but another is still loose, and not all of the weapons have been recovered.

Being a NYC'er myself, I'm just shocked and outraged at this latest shooting. But what worries me more is the fact that this will probably bring on another round of Anti-Gun movements... What good will tougher gun laws be in NYC? Most of the guns used in shootings here are illegal anyway...

AFAIK, this was a "school shooting", but it was black kids shooting other black kids. America's attitude? [sleep].

It's only "real" to the rest of TV news-viewing America if it happens in rich, lily-white suburbia.[rolleyes]
