An area man was rushed to St. Agnes Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after a pistol he was working on accidentally discharged, striking him in the abdomen, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident happened at a residence along Highway 151 north of Fond du Lac shortly before 3:30 p.m.

The man, authorities said Tuesday night, called 911 to report the accidental shooting. He remained conscious while talking to dispatchers.

Authorities said that the man was using a screwdriver and apparently trying to dislodge a round from the chamber of the pistol when the weapon discharged, with the bullet striking him in the abdomen.

Further details of the incident were not available late Tuesday.

Lets hope he didn't have a chance to breed before dying.  Patty

This incident begs the question, "What size screwdriver do I use to dislodge a 9mm/.40/.45/FN5.7, etc.?"
