I was going to follow up on another thread posted a week or two ago, but I'll be damned if I can find it. The search function is limited to posts I started. Anyway...

On April 6 I ordered 2 CQB slings, 1 CQB belt, and 1 pair of Hi-Tec Magnum Pro 8 boots from Botach Tactical. They charged my CC immediately and I received an invoice in the email stating that all items had been shipped and a tracking number.

Items were scheduled to be delivered on Monday April 9.

On Wednesday April 11 I called and found out that the items had not been shipped because they were out of the CQB slings. Due in early the following week.

Ok, so I let a couple of weeks go by and email them on April 24. No response to email. April 25 I get 2 messages on my voice mail from Botach which my wife saved and forgot to tell me. So I called on April 27 and the guy says they're out of stock on the Pro 8 boots but he can substitute Pro 6 boots. I say no thanks and ship me the rest of my order. He says they had my 2 slings and a belt and would ship them that day.

I followed the tracking number and it wasn't shipped on Friday or Monday. So Tuesday, May 1, I called and checked on my order. He says it was shipped on Friday and he doesn't know why UPS doesn't have it in their system.

Tuesday afternoon, I got a voice message saying that they found that my order had NOT been shipped, that they were out of the slings, but they had my boots in stock.

I called again this morning, and found that they didn't have my size boots in stock after all and they were again out of the CQB slings, but they had my belt. CQB slings are due in by the end of this week. I asked them to hold my belt and ship it when the slings come in. I asked if they had my size boots when I originally placed the order and she said they did but somebody else probably got them. They're not getting anymore, not at the $29 sale price.

I also had to remind her (again) to credit my CC for the boots that they charged me for.

Here it is almost a month after placing my order and I still don't have my stuff but it's already paid for. Add me to the growing list of disgruntled Botach customers, soon to be an ex-customer.

Variations of this same story are played out at Botach all the time.  If you MUST order from them, call them, and have them verify that your items are in stock (good luck!).  Otherwise, expect to get screwed around as your credit card accumulates interest...

I refuse to deal with any company that charges my card before they pack the box to ship it.

same thing with me... ordered my surefire 9p, battery pack from them a while ago. it took them a month to send the light out, and they sent me the wrong battery pack, the one for the 6p.  after an email and long wait they finally responded, told me to send them the battery pack and original invoice back, and they would "look into it"... sorry, but no. its worth my money to not deal with that hassle... may order from them in the future, but yes, i will call them and place the order as opposed to the web order...

but damn their prices are awesome...

I've said it before and I've said it again. I view shopping with Botach just the same as gambling.  You roll the dice when you make an orde sometimes you win and sometimes it's messed up.

Personally I haven't had any problems worth wasting typing on and I don't understand why you put up with having your credit card charged for something that is not on it's way to you.  If that happened to me I'd dispute the charge with the credit company the second the bill showed up at my house.

With all of that said I will still continue to shop at Botach when they have something I want for a great price.  Face it fellas, and ladies, the $29 HiTech boot sale was a good deal!

Well, my order finally arrived yesterday, 40 days after placing my order. 2 CQB slings and a CQB instructor belt. I like the slings. They're softer than the Giles but they don't attach as securely. The belt is too wide. I should have got 1.5" instead of 1.75". It fits my jeans but just barely fits the loops in my BDUs. It would have been nice to get the Hi-Tec boots at the $29 price. I know for a fact they had them in stock when I placed my order. But I don't really need them. I've got plenty of boots. I'd like to say I'll never order from Botach again but I never say never. It would have to be a killer deal for me to put up with this kind of delay again.

I've bought a couple of Aimpoint Comp M/ML's, a compact ACOG, boots, a vest, backpack, watch, mall ninja uniform and tons of other stuff from them. Don't be in a hurry but don't expect to find the stuff any cheaper anywhere else. Some times it's taken them six or eight weeks to come though but they always have. YMMV.

LOL! Life has been good to me, but some vendors suck. Yeah, I've had a little bad luck, but consider my rants a "caveat emptor" for the good members on this board. From the above posts, I'm not the only one who's been screwed by Botach, and I'm not the first one who said that PRI manufactured mounts are out of specs. I've gotten some great deals from some good sources, I just don't tend to rave about them as often as I tend to rant about the bad ones.

Coincidentally, both of my dogs died last year; one was old and sick and had to be put to sleep and the other got ran over by a truck. Neither one was named "Lucky," but I did have a three-legged cat that died about four years ago. Her name was "Silver" but after the accident and her leg was amputated I nicknamed her "Tripod."
