I used to think the Dead were just okay, but I never really appreciated them unitl I heard an interview with someone concerning a Dead/Stones (?) concert at the Fillmore in SF, circe 1968, where the Dead showed up w/pistols in holsters for the rehearsal/sound check.
The interviewee went on at great length about (insert British accent tinged quote about "wild west gunslingers" here)that event. After that, Jerry, Phil and the boys sounded better and better! Tango7 |
