I have shot about 40 tree rats in the back yard in just 3 months , after the bird feeder and garden . Every damn week 3 or 4 show up and get dead'ed. What is the territorial range of these things... 5 miles? my nitro piston is getting a work out .

Plague has been in Western USA for a long time. IIRC there was a mouse caught on Reagans ranch that was carrying plague.

IIRC Yosemite was closed down in the early 80s maybe late 70s due to the little disease ridden varmint cong.
"Nuke from orbit" is our only hope.
