Obama Talks Gun Control with Smerconish

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama talked about gun control and the Second Amendment during a radio interview in Philadelphia on Friday morning.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama was a guest on KYW's sister station, WPHT-AM 1210.

Obama told talk show host Michael Smerconish he's a firm believer in the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms –– but admits there must be some limits:

"I do believe in some gun safety measures –– so, for example, with all the shootings in Philadelphia, most recently police officers, I want to make sure that we can trace back guns and bullets that are used in crimes back where they were purchased, so we can make sure that in fact the laws are being enforced."

He assured Smerconish, an admitted gun owner, and other lawful weapon owners their rights to bear arms under the Constitution would be protected under an Obama administration.

With this being said who knows what the hell to believe, we all know how crooked legislators are.

There will be plenty of naysayers here on arfcom to poo poo the idea that BarryO and the libs will tackle gun control.

They will of course be wrong.

Look for a never ending assault on the 2nd Amendment by Pelosi, Feinstein, Schumer, McCarthy et.al. And you can bet the farm the the Messiah will rubber stamp any anti 2A bill he sets eyes on.

And who cares how many times it gets reposted. As long as there is someone who might see it for the first time and realize that htey need to do something now to keep it from happening then I am fine seeeing it 10 times a day.

That gun owners would rather snap the nutsack off of another gunowner for trying to be helpful than be courteous is why we will lose in the end.

Face it, it's been duped to death since 2/11/2008 with no new information presented for sometime.

Posting the same Zomg! look at this does not help the cause.

When you see it 10 times a day you tune it our and you don't notice when something changes. The website linked hasn't been updated since who knows when. The WA bill was dead the day it was introduced (Feb 7 2008) as it was the day before a session cutoff.

Rehashing the same old, stale, and out of date basics doesn't IMHO add anything to the effort.

If there's new information present it. You and the OP are both in IL, is there a 2009 bill there? Is it moving?

I think this is the most epic repost of the last few months. It's a close race between this and Obama position on guns from his websites.

Can't do shit about it until it makes it to the floor for a vote, so keep an eye out for that.
