Looking at some Silver Bear:

Silver Bear brand 223/5.56x45mm ammunition by the CJSC Barnaul Catridge Plant of Russia. Features a boat tail bi-metal, jacketed 62grn hollow point bullet, zinc plated steel case, and non-corrosive berdan primer.

What do you guy's think?

Yep, that's ammo allright.

Russian ammo is Russian ammo. Some of its better than others, usually dirty but always shoots. Not the most accurate. But Russian ammo is better than none.

I am looking at using it in my AR15...  A friend told me the lacker will build upfrom these rounds.  If they are zinc plated will they run smoother?

By the time you get around to making your mind up they will be sold out.

I have been shooting wolf since the first round in my AR (probably 2500 to 3000 rounds) without a problem, I do however clean it EXTREAMLY well after each range trip.

I shoot wolf with no problems, I don't like barnaul though.

Remember you can sell your once-fired brass, but not the steel. You could sell it for at least $55/k.

AIM Surplus Silver Bear: $280/k, break even point with brass ammo would be $335/k.

Barnaul runs circles around Wolf.  That said, steel cased ammo is hard on AR extractors.  Caveat emptor.

Yeah, I can't say I'd shoot Wolf through any AR I care about.  A bolt gun, maybe, but never an AR.

An extractor and extractor pin is, what, like $2.
