I'll update OP with the trailer once it hits YouTube.
http://www.slashfilm.com/american-sniper-first-look/ ETA: Here it is! Looks good and I'm already going to the theater for Christmas, so why the heck not do a triple feature! iPotato |

It really is unbelievable how much he looks like him in all these pics.
|
|
I hope the beach ball scene made it into the movie. The mental picture I got from the book was hilarious.
|

|
The movie should be pretty accurate as far as weaponry goes. The studio hired Two Rivers Arms out of Oklahoma to build them a couple of Tabuk Sniper rifles for the movie.
|
|
Holy shit he looks just like him. Should be a good movie I can't wait to see it.

Maybe the Bluray will have a bonus Kyle vs Ventura mini game?

Maybe the Bluray will have a bonus Kyle vs Ventura mini game? I'm curious how they will portray his shooting two car jackers at a Texas gas station... Oh wait, that didn't actually happen. He made that up, too. |
|
Aaaaand we're off!
Anyway, I didn't particularly care for the book, but Cooper seems committed to the movie and Eastwood is a great director |

Link?
was this in his book or heresy? Quoted:

It sounds like the movie plays up the large, and in my opinion uninteresting, role his wife played in the book. I personally did not care for the stories of hazing and drunken seals cruising bars looking for people to beat the shit out of, then get off the hook by playing up their position as seals. (Obviously the book plays up "the import Role hazing plays" and how "we were just minding our own business when we beat all those guys up") The actual action parts of the book are great. I would have preferred more war stories and less about his wife telling him he better quit. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I agree completely. He should have left all the unprofessional frat boy BS out and not added anything from his wife. Didn't he mention he didn't try for 6 cause he didn't want to do all the new guy shit again. |

I thought it was slow reading compared to the war stories, but I didn't mind it being there, and I won't mind it being a part of the movie. If I was the type to have bro-crushes, I'd probably have one on Bradley Cooper, so I'm really looking forward to seeing him play someone I wish I could have met in real life. |

Fearless is going to be a movie too. And of course, it has people pissed off too. Even though no one has ever publicly said it was inaccurate. |

I just hope the movie doesn't cover his death. No need to glorify a maggot. RIP Kyle, you are sorely missed.

He made that up, too. I just had this conversation with 2 Force Recon/Snipers, one of whom was there in Ramadi at the time Chris was there. His claims of distances to the hospital aren't substantiated by the reality on the ground, and it goes downhill from there. I'm wondering if the beach ball incident even happened now. I actually met Chris at SHOT last year and talked with him for a while. He was one of the few Squeals that would actually talk to you like a regular guy, very personable. I wonder if there is encouragement from the Navy for these guys to basically fabricate anything they can conjure just to help recruitment, because it is way out of hand. |

We don't care about that stuff. The bigger the tale the better! Not substantiated... pshhh.

It was hard to finish the book when Kyle is talking about future plans and how he liked helping fellow vets with PTSD, and knowing that he had just been killed by one. It was hard. I am curious about the movie. I have yet to see Lone Survivor though, it was a pretty good book too. But, it also had a lot of controversy about being embellished. |
