I picked this as my NRA magazine when I joined. Is it an actual magazine, or just adverts, etc?

Actual magazine.  Pretty good.

Actual magazine like the others have stated.  It is a good one to keep by the crapper for your morning or evening enjoyment.

It's the one I subscribe too.

Like everybody else has said, it's actually pretty good and informative.  I expected pure propaganda and self congratulatory articles but have been pleasently surprised with it.

It is far better than it was in the 90's.

If you are a shooter but not a hunter, it is pretty good. I shoot Ipsc, Idpa, CMP and NRA Highpower and I find it an interesting magazine. The Dope Bage is informative, and lately there have been a lot of WW2 guns featured. (I think someone mentioned that)

Well, I'm glad I chose to subscribe to it instead of the others then.

Now hopefully when my NRA membership arrives in the mail (if it hasn't already) my parents won't lose it like they do everything else and I'll be able to check everything out when I go home.

It's good for the articles like the WWII weapons.  It is a joke on new gun reviews.  I think the Scandium 1911 from S&W had a measley 130 rounds fired as the reliability test.  Shrug.  Xbigfootx has it right.

Best "on the pot" mag out there.

Plus it's free.
