About a jewish kid who becomes a skin head trying to shed his jewish roots, but has a change of heart. Semi based on a true story. It's a pretty good movie.

I liked it, but leaving the theatre was one of the scariest things that happened to me

I liked it.

Also, watch "Romper Stomper" - an Aussie movie with Russell Crowe as a skinhead whose gang beats up these Asians - there were a lot of beatings

agreed.

When the movie was starting, it said that he had gained 30 lbs in muscle for the role.

Norton was great in the movie, the character was similar in a lot of ways to the one played by Brad Pitt in Fight Club. (Scene outside the supermarket and the dinner table for examples)

I found that pretty interesting.

They're playing this on tv? HBO or something right, not cable?

Question on curb stomping...

How exactly does that equal instant death? Looks to me like the lower jaw (mandible? IIRC) would dislocate itself but would not cause damage to the brain. So, I'm assuming it would break your neck? damage the medulla, which controls breathing/heart rate IIRC?

Anybody got a good explanation?

wanna find out????

just kidding.

i believe along with the enormous amounts of pain, your neck would be snapped too, killing you instantly.

Excellent movie.

A curb stomp is given to the back of the head so not only does the skin around your teeth rip, your brains get splattered on the side.

Great movie, too fictional about a white brotherhood in Venice Beach.
Should have been set in Palmdale.

Edward Norton is an anti-gun fuck, but as long as he keeps his trap shut then I can deal with that.

The weakest part of the movie is that shitbag Edward Furlong playing his younger brother.

The part where he is assraped in prison is more disturbing than the curb scene.

Very good movie.

Norton is a LIBERAL.

nuff said!

The Believer?
Betrayed?

Those movies are pure crap and don't even come close to being realistic. Next you'll be recommending Higher Learning.

American History X is a great movie, and Romper Stomper is pretty damn good too. For awhile they were selling Romper Stomper at Walmart I guess because Crowe is famous now. When he did that movie he was already relatively well known in Australia and it was considered carreer suicide by some.

The only thing I don't like about American History X is that Norton got in the editing room and softened his character. For quite awhile the director refused to put his name on it. I'd like to see what the director would have done differently.

Quentin Tarantino would have loved to direct this project.

That's the most memorable scene in the movie...and the most impacting.

The film ended on a positive note. Racism is hypocritical.

What HEAT post?

That reminds me.......just what type of rifle did the Pacino character use in that movie?

Yep.

American History X and Fight Club are two of my favorites. He was also very good in that Richard Gere murder trial drama.
