>95thFoot,
From your name can I presume that you are a Rev War re-enactor? I run with the German Rgt.
You are correct, sir- I am a servant of the legal govt. and the forces of goodness, light and freedom, AKA Ye Redcoats :^), viz, as a member of HM40th Regt of Foot ( http://members.aol.com/HM40thfoot/ )

As I always tell the public, "This is a military-style assault weapon- of the 18th century. With it, the British were able to conquer most of the known world." THAT gets some interesting responses....
>I missed 3 doe this season with her here in Pa. The first 2 were running full bore so I thought I would try. The 3rd was standing 48 paces away down a steep hill. I made the mistake of not shooting low. Even though I missed, I was back "there" for just a moment. Incredible! It has never happened before and has to be experienced. I am planning to build a Jaeger Rifle from http://www.trackofthewolf.com.
Check also with GGGodwin- they get NICE handmade Jaeger rifles from Juergen Kreckel.
>I think I'll do better next year with that rifle. I also hammer (der Blaeckschmidt) at the Danl Boone Homestead on occasion and get to introduce a lot of non-shooters to my rifle and musket. We seem to get folks from Jersey and Maryland that come there.
Would you have been the blacksmith from the German regiment who was at Rock Ford in '98? My wife, who is Scottish, was there, and won a nice handmade wrought iron takedown kit for a Brown Bess in a wooden case, at an auction or raffle there. The 'smith explained to her a lot about it. I still use it, every time I maintain the Bess.
