Well woke up 0500. At work 0645. Got coffee. Checked out the job section on Bloomberg and noticed its only me and the VP of compliance so far. Is there anyone else working today. I have to be here till market closes, which is 1400 EDT. Maybe 1/2 - 1hr after. This sucks.

I just got home after working my regular shift, and mandatory overtime. I go back to work tonight at 2230.
I'm going to be trying to get some sleep while you're watching the economy plummet. All in all, I think that I'll have gotten the better end of the deal... Hang in there, Al. It only gets worse. Sincerely, Your Little Ray of Sunshine in the Morning.[;D] |
Not many people here today....only 4 people on my floor so far and not expecting too many more (about 50 on this floor during normal day). Should be a great day to catch up on some work. |
I work at 1900 hours. I woke up to the sound of thunder a few minutes ago, and quickly realized it was already raining.
Oh crap, did I leave my truck window down? Run out there in the pouring rain to find out that I did, in fact, leave the window down. Nothing had gotten wet yet. |
Nope I'm working today too. There are six of us working, keeping the Verizon telephones working in four counties. Lots of windshield time and wandering around in the boonies. I had put in for a personal day but someone with more time got the day instead. To make it even worse vacation starts Monday.

I'm with ya buddy! Poured the last drink for a customer at 2:05AM(left the restaurant at 3AM) this morning and was up at 6AM to work(work, not workout, that will happen when my shift is over) at the gym. Back in the Rest. at 2PM. My ass is spent and still have 3 more bar shift(2 nite managing the rest. as well) to work of this holiday weekend. I bitch now, but going to the bank on Monday is alway fun.

AT work, yes. working, no.
i'd rather be home swapping engines in my pontiac |
Quoted: AT work, yes. working, no. View Quote Ha HA, that's the plan. All the bosses are on vacation, so I'll spend a little time browsing AR15.com today, heh heh, and maybe get some real work done. I'll put MS access on low priority in NT and run a big query, then I can brows th web while i wait for it to finish. |
My wife and everyone else is off today but nooooo, not me. Got to be here at work. Everyone else in the office except for maybe 1 or 2 others is off too. Stinks!
Today is day 24 of 24 in a row without a day off. Tommorrow I start 10 days of vacation. Boy do I need it.
At work here too. Got here at 0530 and get to leave at 1730. Just 10 more hours to go!!!
Nope, fire guys told me to stay home since nobody would be in the office (nobody but me pretty much wanted to work). Don't get paid not to come like they do but whatever...make it up over next week I guess, still, sucks I gotta work extra as well to make up for the fourth.
I volunteered to work today. The wife had to work so sitting around the house watching crappy talk shows was not exactly a worthy use of a vaca day.
I am at work now and the phone has only rang 2 or three times. I am already bored and its only 9:20pm my time.

I worked fixing up one of my houses I bought for resale. I work pretty much everyday tell its done. I don't get paid tell it sells. It usually takes me 1 -2 months from start to finish, but I sure love those $30,000 pay days every other month. Happy 4th[:D]

I can pretty much count on working every holiday, and every other weekend.
Working the same hours as you, LT...
Once the market closes, I can go home. the_reject |

Worked yesterday, working today. Just got done getting the info to do a report. Kids threw fireworks on a nice Vet. [pissed][soapbox]

Oh sweet early retirement! A nice chunck deposited in the account each month and a wife with a very profitable business with no desire to retire...it's oftentimes tough deciding where to go shoot....

[pissed][soapbox] Art in KY View Quote So...are the little bastards in the hoosegow? How's the guy doing? I hope someone takes the time to explain to the miscreants why it is that they enjoy the wonderful freedoms bestowed upon them by the heroic actions of all vets who served their country. I also hope the judge throws the book at them. (As I sit here listening to the "Band of Brothers" CD.) [pissed] And yea...I'm at the (nearly empty) office. It sucks too because the super turned off the A/C since it isn't a "normal work day". Looks like an early get away today. Too damn hot in DC for this crap. |
Yup, I'm working too. The life of an engineer is never dull. Sounded like a friggin war zone in my subdivision last night. Everybody was trying to "out do" each other.
I was contemplating unloading a few 30 rounders to join the fun. If I'd had a few more Sapphires in me, I just might have done it. Instead, I just threw a brick of black cats in the back yard. One of the 1000 count types. It lasted for a little while. Then I went to bed dreaming of 1000 yard 10 ring hits...... |
I am "working" too.
The owner of our company was just in my office. |

Here I go.
1 piece of work; a tripper to follow; then a couple hours off and a Mariner Special. Yesterday, the 4th was a later piece of work and a Fireworks Special. I smell a new rifle...! [;D] |

Yup. Perfect day for us network guys to make changes to Servers and other IT stuff. Less people complain today (less people at work.)
I thought about saying, on behalf of all of us who are out of work right now,
[red]Go screw yourselves, whiny bitches!![/red] but then I decided not to because that would be mean-spirited. |

For a brief time I considered moving a bunch of our data catalogs from Oracle 8i to 9i. Then I thought to myself.... "Why in the hell do you want to do that today????" So, it's a cush day. Score one for me though. The CEO was trying to remote from Hilton Head and couldn't get in. I walked him right through it and he's happy as a lark. [0:)] |

bendover,
hey lastweekend did you say you are looking for more people? ;)Just asking . |
Yep... I gotta work today because the whiney bitches never stop calling. Although less of them will call today!
Hope you non-working people are enjoying it! |

I'm here. Then the boss decided that this weekend would be a good one to do inventory. So a potential 4 day holiday went to a one day holiday. Whoopi -legrue |

I'm self-employed, ONCALL 24/7. Just another day as far as work is concerned. I've been over in central Or. varmint hunting and been called out. But, the money is really good when this happens.

Just asked my boss if I could take a "half day". He said sure.....
I am outta here in 30 minutes! |
I'm in too, about to do a conference call with Chicago and folks in the UK. Gonna try to get out early.
My job disappears end of July, so I'll finally have a summer that doesn't involve working 60-80 work weeks.... |
