Waiting for Far Cry 2....

Also gonna get GTA IV for PC.

That's about it other than LOTRO Mines of Moria which expands upon the MMO LOTRO that's already been out 2 years now.

True, but the whole sniper class in CoD4 is useless IMO. The best "sniper" rifle in the game is the G3 with an Aimpoint. They could add a lot of unarmed, unarmored vehicles to it to get people where they want to go. You're right though, developers are mainly catering to the run and gun crowd. It's sad when you use more strategy and tactics in TF2 than in a game that's supposed to simulate real combat.

PC, And I use the G3 a lot with deep impact, it goes through the walls just as good as the .50 as far as I can tell.

PC, And I use the G3 a lot with deep impact, it goes through the walls just as good as the .50 as far as I can tell.

Hmm, never tested the G3, but vs. the other snipers it seemed the .50 penetrated more walls. I liked my .50/1911 combo in hardcore mode(only mode I play), was all I used on some maps.

Treyarch made cod3 and are making call of duty world at war, which I hate to be a nay sayer, but will suck. However Infinity Ward IS working on a new game series. So look forward to that. Also I believe iD software still makes quality games, which john carmack is actually involved (so that excludes Quake Wars, Quake 4, the new Wolfenstein...)

treyarch hasn't been given a fair shake. they had a 6 month development cycle for cod3. this time they had the standard 2 years.

add to that the fact they're using the cod4 engine and they're keeping all the good things about cod4 and tweaking it a little bit, partly to improve, partly to be period specific (attack dogs and flamethrowers), and i think there's a chance the game will be very good.

i know a few guys that have done the beta, and they say it's fun. i get my beta key on wednesday, i'll check back in then.
