I've planned out a PVS-14 setup that I intend to get from TNVC that will come out to something like $4650.
My 2010 Corolla with 186,000 miles on it is work something like $4000. Wife says I'm crazy but understands BRD and its related symptoms. I drive a lot for work (100+ miles a day) so the Corolla was purposefully purchased to take that daily beating. It still runs pretty good and I don't plan on replacing it until it costs more to keep it going than it's worth. |

Priorities, you're doing them right Fo like you've never fo'd before

NV is one of those things you rarely need, but when you need it, you REALLY need it

It doesn't matter what your car is worth. If you buy the night vision, and your car explodes in six months, will not having the money you spent on the night vision make buying a replacement car more difficult?
FWIW, my car is over 10 years old and has ~155,000 miles on it. I've spent WAY more on guns this year than my car is worth, but I could also replace the car if needed. |

No WP. But by the time you add helmet, mounts, DBAL, etc. it adds up. View Quote @UTex86 FWIW, there are Norotos INVG (legacy version) and Dual Dovetail on EBay for a pretty big discount right now ($382 and $112 shipped respectively). Go forth and save. ETA: get out and use your NOD... Go hog hunting, go for walks at night, etc. I've done both this past week, and hope to do it again! |

Not crazy if it's something you might actually use, or will enjoy a lot, maybe if you hunt at night or something.
If it's just for taking bathroom selfies dressed up like Sam Fisher or something, then yeah, it's probably a pretty stupid purchase. But it's your money, and only you can decide the relative value of such things. My car is also as similarly worth(less) as yours and I have spent more on guns this year by a wide margin than replacing the car would cost. But as long as my car runs I don't really give a shit, I have a work car that the state pays for and I barely put ~80 miles on my personal car in a week. |

You know your Corolla will blow a head gasket about three weeks after you get NVGs.

I have been trying to figure out how to fund TNVC Sentinels, ~7.5k, without the wife noticing... |

My daily driver is a 1995 Volvo and because I don't make car payments I can have cool toys like NVDs. Life is short so you might as well enjoy it.

My guns worth more than my truck… My main rifle is probably equal in value.

Do you have the cash, after the NVG purchase, to replace the car? If so, get your BRDS on.

Eh. I once spent more on my boat exhaust than my car was worth. But damn it sounds awesome.

No, you're not crazy. Decent night vision costs far in excess of the value of the average car. http://i.imgur.com/93zs2HXl.jpg View Quote My neck hurts looking at that. |

It's sad but my Acog is worth more then my car. So no it's not crazy

I'm in the same bout. My crown Vic has 180,000mi and is probably worth like 2g. But I just bought a high cut ballistic Gentex helmet and plan to dip my toes into the NV game soon.

Wait, are the people saying "yes" meaning "Yes, get the wizard eyes" or "yes, you would be crazy"
I'm trying to get to 4/4 master race here guys. Already got the SBR, cans, and ceramic lvl IV plates |

I've got zero military experience and I'm not here to shit on anyone's parade. Cool toys are cool. I've shot a few pigs in the dark with borrowed NV. Fun but not $5,000 fun. What else does NV buy me that I can realistically use? Not here to deride but here to learn. Talk me into NV rather than another MG.

I find myself out hunting when it's dark quite a bit and thinking "gee it sure would be nice to be able to see right now" (without a flashlight). Also I've just got BRD pretty bad. It all started with bolt action rifles. That's cool - what about this revolver? Oh sweet! I wonder what semi-auto pistols are like. OMG! Well if that's cool, what about semi-auto rifles? Holy Shit! Wait, this is a little heavy, can I make it lighter and shorter? Yessss..... But it's so loud - wait - is there a way to make this quieter?? OMG there is! But wait, what if I could do all that in the dark too? HNNGGGGG |

Its your life. Not going to guilt you into buying the NV setup, but if the zombies come at night don't act like you didn't know any better.

You need a more expensive car and then you no longer have this problem.

Are you going to use them for more than the kid at the dance in 16 candles did? if not save the
money for the stupid things that always pop up like broken water heater, sump pump, roof, vet bill.....etc. etc. etc. |
