Take care of yourselves.
If you have a problem or a flaw that can be fixed, fix it. Seek help, always try to better yourself and those around you. I didn't. But, now I'm trying. |

Vague post is vague.
Could be anything from OP is dying, to transgender surgery (this is GD after all). Good luck. |

Thanks op,
Getting a cavity filled next Thursday and I hate the dentist. Wish me luck. |

I like this thread, however vague it may be
if someone asked me "what is the meaning of life? I would reply self-improvement by improving yourself you also boost those around you |

Thank you OP. Life is indeed short and some of the old injuries from decades ago affect me today.

Mine is. All stuff that could be corrected if I could afford to miss work for the recovery period(s). As to the OP, I wish you nothing but the best with whatever issues you may be having. |

You're one of my favorite people on here, no homo. Whatever the issue is, I hope it all turn out ok.

Life being short would not be an incentive to take care of yourself. My incentive to take care of myself is that life could be pretty long.
My parents both had some serious health issues yet they both lived into their early 80s. If I take care of myself, I might improve on that. |

I hear you OP.
I don't know your reason, but mine was breaking up with my GF I'm eating better, I'm working out, I'm out doing new things, I've made new friends, and most importantly I'm figuring out what makes me happy. And aside from feeling alone sometimes, I'm actually happy for the first time in a while. Keep your head up OP. It'll work out for the best it can |

Cheer up!
Just when you think life can't get any shittier ............ it does. |

OP is right. You lose your health, sometimes it's hard or impossible to get back.
I'll share: I never go to the doctor; I never have regular check-ups. This winter I grew my normal full, bushy beard. Sometime in the middle of the winter, I felt a hard lump on the left center side of my neck. Said something to the wife, but like usual, didn't follow up, didn't go see a doctor, pretty much blew it off. Come May, I trimmed my beard down to a summer goatee. Shaving my neck, I found myself having to shave over and around a large lump. I finally went to the doctor, they sent me to have a ultrasound, they sent me to an Endocrinologist who did a biopsy and on June 12, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. On June 30, I had a complete Thyroidectomy, four hours of surgery, in which I lost a lot of lymph nodes, meat around my trachea, the nerve for one side of my larynx (voice box), and the ability to talk normally. I have a six inch scar across the front of my throat. Diagnosis: Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma, Tall Cell Variant. I just had max dose Radioactive Iodine therapy last Thursday, and have to carry around a card attesting to such for the next six months. If I fly, or cross a border, I will set off their radiation alarms (my geiger counter goes nuts). To top it off, it may have spread to my lungs. The last 6-7 weeks have been hell. I will be dependent on thyroid hormone pills the rest of my life. Pretty much all because I was too stubborn/busy/stupid to have things checked out. Don't be that guy. |

you're right, I should fap
::edit:: poor follow up to the above post, sorry to hear that. I'm kind of the same way, like to ignore things |

Dr is trying to force me to get myself fixed. Went on a sugar binge and watched my eyesight go haywire. 2 months now, am 30lbs lighter (amazing what happens when your body screws up and you start pissing sugar water) and vision is back to normal - but still have another 30lbs that I need to get rid of.
Ranch work that used to be just hard is tearing me apart. Not really expecting that to get much better - so am going to try to work smarter instead of harder for a bit (just got an ctl with an a/c cab - why use muscle if you can use hydraulics). |

There's a retired guy that checks detailed structural shop drawings for us and makes sure they're consistent with our engineering drawings. He was picking up some drawings from our office this morning and seemed fine. Just found out he had a massive stroke and is on a helicopter on the way to Richmond Life is short and fragile..

View Quote Damn... that's sad. It's been a hard summer for me in terms of chronic pain from my lower back. I've been putting-off a fusion... but I'm finally beat-down and ready to get it done. Just can't stand it any more. But I will remember your post the next time I'm feeling sorry for myself because I have to have the back surgery. It could ALWAYS be worse. |
