I have a habit, can't drink enough. How to get off the Cola? Serious, any ideas. It is making me fat. Taking in about 1200cal a day by coke.

Your body needs the caffine, don't quit cold turkey or you'll be sick. Headaches will kick your ass for days. You can half your intake of caffine without side effects, then begin tapering off from there.

Your body needs the caffine, don't quit cold turkey or you'll be sick. Headaches will kick your ass for days. You can half your intake of caffine without side effects, then begin tapering off from there.


Thats the goal, one reuglar coke on caffine free etc, and just work down that way until I hit diet.

Just quit. The first few days (withdrawl) will suck... headaches, muscle aches, and flu like symptoms in some people.

Have one cup of green tea (about 30mg) in the morning, to keep from getting serious caffeine fits, and thats it.

Or switch to diet coke. 45mg / 12oz, 0 calories. Same caffeine, no sugar.

At 150 cal / can, you're getting about 8 cans a day, or 360mg. A single grande coffee from starbucks has about 400mg / 0 calories. You could go that route.

+1 for caffiene being very addictive.

I quit regular coffee when I worked for FedGov in the 90's. My caffiene intake was affecting my sleep.

I was a complete asshole to my friends and coworkers, and gerally started to hate life.

I learned to moderate my caffeine intake. I chug coffee and coke when I'm on duty, but generally have reduced my off-duty consumption dramatically - <3 cans or cups /day. And no caffiene after 1800. That way I can crash out at my usual 2300-0100, and still wake up ready to go by 0530.

We get a scheduled shift day off about once a month - the wife knows enough now to make sure she doses me on those off days, or else I'm all out of whack for my whole time off.

Switch to black coffee. More of the "Vitamin C" you need, and none of the other stuff. plus it tastes good. For the same price you are spending on Coke a day you could be brewing some "serious gormet shit".

I did the cold turkey method.

Drink clean water and eat fresh fruit. You will lose your taste for high frutose corn syrup.

btw im a caffine addict too, 3 or more 20oz a day while im on the clock off the clock.
i hardly touch the stuff when im off the clock.

i suggest you switch to a double shot of expresso "cold" that comes out of the coffee machines. that stuff will wake up the dead.

Hi. My name is Bob and I'm a Coke addict too.

1 or 2 in the morning [breakfast] another 4 or 5 in my lunch box and, ofcourse, 2 or 3 after work. Been like this for years. I'm not a coffee drinker, don't have time for it. I need to quit too.

But the womenz say I taste good .

Its not an easy thing to do.
