Let's try something a little...er...different

Instead of going for a budget build with awesome parts, let's try for a really expensive rifle with absolutely shit parts.

I got this idea when I saw someone on my Facebook feed bragging about his super awesome AR15 that he has sunk "a pile of money" into that I cringed when I saw. Carbon 15, UTG forend....you get the idea

So ARFCOM....

Give me all the Hesse, Vulcan, etc. parts you can, with accessories hopefully sourced from UTG, Cheaper Than Dirt, BeowulfX, and DealExtreme.

Gun must have all the parts required to make a "normal" AR15 run. That is, you can't just 'omit' parts and say, "well it doesn't work!"

Guns also must have at minimum, a bipod, laser, scope/optic, riser/"see through rings", VFG, BUIS.

Bonus points for BUBUIS and other redundant dodads.

In short, drag that shit through every cheap Chinese airsoft magazine humanly possible.

So where's that 'oldest AR15-meme on the internets' at with the Asian dude holding the contraption ?

So...you're saying the Carbon 15 has a chance at losing the title?

Or, you know, you could not be a self proclaimed expert and not know how to put a gas block on.

I would start at Shepherd Firearms. Their "Elite AR-15 Rifle" for $2800 is a solid contender.

Does that upper work that way or did someone have an HK moment and load the belt upside down? Every beltfed I have fired has had the links on top of the round. If that's how it works, fine. Just looks odd compared to what I have shot.
ETA-I see someone else noticed.

Shrike on a M16 lower.

Actually, a Shrike on a converted semi lower. Visible elector markings say SAFE/FIRE not SAFE/SEMI.

Y2K / 1999 panic produced bushmaster with the over torqued bbl and canted front sight. IIRC they were running 24/7 trying to meet the Y2K panic, combined with the soon to be Assault Weapons CADOJ Jan 1st ban.

I've seen some Christensen Arms carbon fiber festooned ARs gathering dust very tactically at my local gun shop.  I think they were wanting $3500 for them.

I don't know how well those things run, but they can't run $3500 worth of well.

Match Grade EVERYTHING. Especially the trigger and the springs. Basically the same way you make a shit 1911 with an extra large price tag.

There is a shop in mid Tenn that is invested heavily in Christensen Arms carbon fiber rifles. They usually have 10-12 of them at a time. Probably the same 10-12.

ETA that was supposed to be a quote on the Ares pictures.

It's a re-pop of the old colt system, to keep the links in it has to be brass up, and there is a small hole drilled in each link that a retaining pin fits into that keeps the rounds ready to advance and not slip out.

It feeds and ejects from below the centerline of the bore/bolt. It has to have the links open side up.

I'm sure Jesse James could hook you up with an AR/1911 combo OP.

He has his own cerakote color, too, called "neck tat".
