On Wednesday my family and I were going to see family in central Kentucky. We were set up to stay in a Holiday Inn with a big pool and game room. At the last minute I changed over to a embassy suites across the street. On Thursday I found out that a 76 year service worker at the Holiday Inn caught 6 youths tearing up Christmas decorations (at the same time we were checking in across the street). The youths proceded to beat the guy nearly to death before escaping.

Here is where it was almost unique. I have my CCW and was carrying. My family was with me. Had I come up on this act in progress I would have been justified in using deadly force. Well anyway I did not have to use deadly force. My family and I have worked out a signal that when given they are to make for the car and get out of the area.

Sorry if this does not make a lot of sense, it still kinda freaks me out to think of the situation I was almost in.
