I was about to nominate you (DK-Prof, AKA "Doogie")  for best sense of humor on Arfcom. I will have to reconsider.

The few I've come across were always professional, even the two that rushed me in my driveway with guns drawn

All the State troopers I have meet have been my kind of guys.

So, I take it you like a man in uniform?

Same here.  I've had pretty good experiences with all LEO.  Let's hope it stays that way!

Sometimes the stop will turn into a conversation about guns, which is cool, and it decreases the likelihood of ticketing, I have found.

TX DPS officers are the same way.  100% professional, unless they are stopping you for a burned out bulb.  The last one that stopped me for a burned out running light followed me to an empty parking light and held a light so I could replace it after I told him I had spares.  We even talked shop.

Didn't even write me up.
