I find it interesting that according to the Bible that when
the Antichrist comes All will be forced to worship him.

So it does not matter if you believe or not in God, or believe
in a different god, you will be Forced to worship him.

As for me I'll already be long gone

It's a shame we have to segregate religious conversations and not expose them to outside thoughts and opinions, because a few children can't hold their tongues.

I believe this had Much to do with the "Program"

As I was growing up one could present a point of view
(either way) and it could be debated and not censored.

One I always think was my public speaking class, the teacher was an Atheist,
but we had Many lively speeches Very pro God and some anti God.

Nobody was crying about separation of Church or state or how the other
group had to be censored and that was high school kids 30 years ago.

How do you force somone to worship something?

I mean, in order to worship something you must believe in it, otherwise you are just going through the motions and thinking," This geezer is a tosser"

That's not worship. That's deception...... deceive the deceiver and all that.

When I hear passages like that I always think of Princess Leia tied up, mostly naked in front of Jabba... THAT is forced worship, I think

Yeah.... but that didn't work out to well for Jabba in the end.

The last thing you want is to force people to worship you and surround yourself with a potential Night of the Long Knives.

Forced worship is a recipe for disaster. Won't be much of an Antichrist if that's the kind of dumb shit he wants to pull.

Say what you want, but some dude stranded alone on an island had a dream that it would all go down this way so...ya know...
...that's what will happen

Freedom of Religion is a fairly new concept and it is definitely not a globally accepted one.

Try not being Muslim in Saudi Arabia, or a Pentecostal Christian in China.

Through out history, dictators have employed pretty effective means of making sure you worship the right god.

"Worship me, or Simon over here is going to cut your head off."

It's a win-win for the dictator. Even if you feign worship then you are still submitting to the worshipee's total authority over you. If you refuse then they kill you as an example to all the others who are thinking about refusing and they fall in line. In the end, the worshipee gets what he wants, which is domination of you.

IIRC, Oddly, many ruling Muslim groups in India had open tolerance for religion over 1000 years ago.
Also, while Rome had an official state religion, people were free to practice what they wanted, until Christianity became a political scapegoat

I agree that freedom of religion was not the historical norm, but it's not a new concept at all.

If the governing authority has the power to outlaw your religion at any time for any reason then you aren't really free to worship as you choose are you? You may be permitted to worship as you choose, but when the guys with the weapons change their minds you're fucked. Not really what I would call Freedom of Religion.

That doesn't happen until after a long propaganda campaign (likely to include miracles).

As for being gone when that happens... I dunno if I'd plan on that.

No seriously, there was freedom to worship whatever you wanted in areas of ancient India under muslim rule; they felt it was good for trade.
Also, the people w/ the weapons can change their minds anywhere at anytime.

No because you are the christian equivalent of a race baiter. I don't really care, I clicked on the thread because many times posters have a witty headline to accompany their post. My honest thought clicking on the thread was this was about Obama. I failed to look at who posted it. My bad.
