Well... at least they still have the oil money? Right? Right?
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 3:21:02 PM EST
That's got to be real close to putting them out of business if it hasn't already.

Didn't some big name competition shooter recently start endorsing their guns?

I've never heard of them. Just how awful is the design, to have no fix at all?

No issues with the Caracal F???
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 3:24:11 PM EST
WTF. How is it not fixable? There is no information available on that release at all.
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 3:24:17 PM EST
That sucks. No interest in that gun at all, but I hate to see the gun culture hurt.

Good on them to own up to a safety issue, even if it knowingly puts them under.

I have an F model, good feel, pleasant shooter, and great trigger for a DAO.

I saw some and just assumed they were Turkish guns. Odd they're out of the UAE, any sort of prior experienced management making them?

It has it's origins with former Steyr designers IIRC.

What are the internal differences that make the full size F model safe which can't be transferred to the compact C model?

It's a Glock ripoff designed by the guy that designed the first Glock ripoff.

Never handled the C, mid slide sights were a put off.

I wonder if the problem is similar to the one with the M&P Shield? All of those were just recalled too.

IIRC, the person that designed them was involved in the design of the Steyr pistol.

Good question. Most compact designs just cut back length & height. The guts remain the same.
That's a really weird situation.

Awesome.

I think this might be related to a story of some sort that I saw of a slide breaking in half and coming back at the shooter.

Off to find a link...

Hate to say it... If I owned one, I'd hang onto to it as a safe queen / oddity.

I shot one of each the F and C models... Both were pretty decent shooters.
Guess I'm lucky the C didn't snakebite me.

No worries. It was merely an intellectual exercise.

Probably cheaper just to offer a refund instead of trying to repair or replace all those frames/slides.
