I'm doing that on Thursday! All four are going at once. I think they're just gonna sedate me and rip 'em out.
One of my coworkers was telling me about some pain killer he had when they took his, but I can't remember what it's called. Whatever it was, they better give me some GOOD drugs. M@ |

Dudes!
Remember to keep pressure on the wounds for the right amount of time. I was groggy when I had mine out and the person with me didn't listen. I went right bed and woke up with a blood soaked pillow, the chills and a mouth filled with a huge blood clot.... Just listen and do what they say. I was supposed to have remained up right with pressure on the wounds for a couple of hours.... doh! |

Yup, I had my packing in for a couple hours and just took it out. I had some bleeding and oozing, but they said that was normal. They did put me out for most of the surgery, but had to wake me up at the end to tell me to keep my tongue still. They also told me to eat a good meal. Now what the hell can I eat...can only chew in the front. I am going to say up a bit and post while medicated on AR15.com so everything clots well.

this 'eat a good meal' crap after dental work remind me of the nusre waking you up to take your sleeping pill.

Consider yourself lucky. I had to have each one of mine removed seperately. The first two were a PITA to get out, and one had to have some serious cutting into the lower jaw bone to get it out. Had a freakin 3rd root that was shaped like a J and hooked into the bone. I have a freakin hyper-active liver so many meds dont work well on me. I can/did take codeine like candy with virtually no effect. When the Dr. finally called me in something strong enough to start helping the pain, it was so strong that it tore my stomach all to pieces and I was barfing like mad. Ever tried puking with a mouth full of stitches??!! No fun AT ALL!
Anyway, here's wishing you a speedy and pain free recovery. Same to those yet to have theirs out. |
