The Alabama state flag, along with other banners from across the country, has been removed from the U.S. Capitol due to concerns that some include Confederate imagery.

The banners, which hang in the tunnel to the Capitol, will be replaced with images of the state quarters.

Someone better inform Scotland.

Story is misleading. They took down all the state flags. AL was not targeted. Excuse was some had confederate stuff i.e. MS flag. Don't think Alabamas is offensive to anyone but on the other hand I don't care if it is

They are essentially the AL flag with some shit on it.

Story I read says all state flags were replaced with commemorative coins or some shit. Maybe limited edition dinner plates.

Well, it's nice they checked that the red saltires on the Alabama and Florida flags are nods to events that predate the confederacy.

Of course, they've been pissed ever since the USSC said southern states can make changes to their election laws without permission from mommy.

Can we talk about what an eyesore the African American Heritage Museum is and how it throws the whole Mall out of balance by flanking the Washington Monument.

Don't get me started on the 'Peace Institute' or whatever the fuck it is they plunked down at the end of Constitution Ave. in place of some historic navy offices

Oh well, the rehabilitation of our national heritage continues apace

According to this article, only 5 flags were removed:  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi.

So much retardation.

Honestly, it's not hard to see why Trump is doing as well as he is.

"Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., had called on Congress to remove all items with Confederate flag imagery, including his own state's flag. Thompson issued a statement praising the committee's decision."

I guess he's representing his constituents...

This. I like how liberals take their ball and go home at the slightest hint of insult to anyone for any reason. Liberal assholes in DC offend every conservative state in the nation. Maybe said States should stop sending their tax $ (aka tribute) to those cocksuckers?

Yes, that hideous, evil-looking, "Borg cube" design for the AAHM is a disgrace to African Americans and anyone else who gives a damn &/or pays taxes.  Almost makes one wonder if it wasn't designed to be ugly intentionally.

And having the "Institute of Peace" in Washington DC is some kind of massive ironic / oxymoronic joke.  Gettin' all Orwellian up in this shit, yo.

This.  They actually know damn well exactly what the orgins are.  It's just a continuation of tactics to divide and rule the subjects population (both blacks and whites) and have folks squabbling over irrelevant shit like flags instead of uniting to address current / active tyranny.
