Buy it now for only $6M. Out of my league, plus, with max. speed of 25kts, not even really good for water skiing.

I guess I can't use the guy in New Mexico as my FFL for that thing. Plus, I'm pretty sure the management at Marina del Rey will have issues about berthing...

Buyer will have to pay an additional $3.5 million for the removal of all weaponary on board plus US or UK government permission (if the buyer is from a non-NATO country.)

I want the damn weapons if I buy it.

Is this transfered on a form 3?

Seems like they would take the $3.5 million off the price if they take the weapons after the sale.

If the city of L.A. puchases it, they could have the Rams move back to L.A. and play on the deck. For away games, it could travel to different ports...

Actually, yes, you could water ski from it.  Minimum speed needed for water skiing is somewhere above 12/13 mph (15mph is about the slowest used in slalom comp.), and the aircraft carrier is said to be capable of about 25knots, which is about 28mph.  Not very fast for water skiing, but you could do it, which would be damn cool to get on video!

300 meters?  You're not thinking outside the box, here.  What you do is bring a whole bunch of buoys with you and set up a floating shooting range in the water.  Then, you move the carrier back so the furthest target from the flight deck is 1,000 yards.  Drop anchor, and have at it!

If you can dig the price,
Might as well throw in a few Hueys and and practice some amphibious assaults.
Not to mention the below deck ranges and galleries and killhouses-hell use the whole aircraft carrier as a kill house![coffee]

HMS Vengance
http://www.fleetairarmarchive.net/vengeance/

Vengeance was a light fleet aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy's Colossus Class. She was built by Swan Hunter, launched on 16th November, 1942, and commissioned 14th January, 1945.

HMS Vengeance was decommissioned in 1955 from the Royal Navy and sold to Brazil on 12th December 1956, where she was commissioned into the Brazilian Navy in 1960 and renamed Navio-Aeródromo Ligeiro (NAeL) Minas Gerais, and coded A-11.

On 16th October 2001, Minas Gerais was finally de-commissioned by the Brazilian Navy and is currently at the Naval Dockyard at Rio de Janeiro where she is largely mothballed as "Care and maintenance" but with 350 men onboard the ship to keep the remaining systems operating.

30 October 2003:
It was reported today that formally the contract was rescinded on 4 September 2003 with Chinese H.J. Jienxiin shipping merchants for purchase of HMS Vengeance/Minas Gerais 14 months after failing to pay for the R$ 5.7 million (1.18 million GBP at today’s value).
