Aim surplus has Portuguese .308 surplus ammo in battlepacks, in crates of 1000 for $139.50 plus shipping. I've been looking for more of this for quite a while and ordered a crate yesterday. This is the best .308 I've shot and has been very hard to find. Try them at www.aimsurplus.com (please, somebody make the link active).

Isn't the shipping pretty steep for a case of 308?

A case of 5.56mm was $13 or so when I got it from AIM a few months ago. Thats ground freight though, took about a week and a half to arrive.

I don't recall exact amounts, but AIM's shipping has always been reasonable IMO.

They told me it was $21 for the 1k in an original wooden crate. I thought this was reasonable, considering the weight. The wooden crate made me feel a little better about getting it with no damage during shipment. This was to Houston, TX. They also state that shipping is at cost.

Now is it actually ".308" or is it 7.62 NATO?
