I've made it a habit everytime I go to receiving next door to make a swing by the ammo shelves on my way back to my office. I saw a nice shelf of Q3131A just begging like a dog at the Humane Society for me to give it a good home.

Rest assured, I did! 40 boxes of ammunition, everything that was on the shelf.

Now, I don't understand why an associate at the register would give me funny looks and question me about it, since after all, BP does have hunting roots.

Cashier: What the hell are you doing with all this, why is an HR Manager buying so much ammunition.
Me: Well, I like to mind my own god damned business on the weekend, you know, that sort of thing
Cashier: (caught off guard, but realized he was out of line) $8.03 is you change, have a good day

In buying 10 boxes of 9mm last Friday, I announced in a loud voice at the register, "YOU DON'T DO BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR AMMO, DO YOU????!!!!"

Priceless!

Since I didn't order this through our distributor, it cost me $4.49 a box, which even though it may be pricey, you get the rewards points too. (I've got $544.23 in rewards points

When Bass Pro had Q3131A for $2.88/box a couple years ago I bought 3500 rounds in one trip. They were giving me looks like I had just looted the place.

That is possibly the best reply to that type of question I've ever seen. Somehow the visual in my head has it being said by a person who looks like Tom Clancy.

The correct answer for an HR guy is "Big layoff coming next week, wanna be prepared."

The correct question is "Is this for a handgun?" The Goddamn question shows right on the register: "Handgun <y/n>" They type in "Y" or "N." If they type in "Y," it then asks if you're over 21. Those who ask the right question, "Is this for a handgun?" get the right answer "Yes." Those who go off the reservation and ask "Is this for a rifle or handgun?" get the "Submachine Gun" answer. See how you enter that one into the register, zit-face.
