Well, I just checked the forecast. It's only suppose to get down to -3 tonight. My thermostat says it's -7 already and there is a lot of night time left till dawn.

Is the 20th the shortest day of the year? Then things will start warming up.

The temp has dropped about 8 degrees since sundown at 5pm. 8 degrees in 2.5 hours from about 1 degree. I love looking at the temp when it says 0.5 degrees.

Yeah, I'm weird...

15°F Feels Like 5°F due to wind chill here. I went to my range today and had fun. I actually like the cold and snow. No ticks, mosquitos or flies and shit.

What does -30 degrees with a 40 mph wind feel like? I know the answer to that...

I alwayas get a kick when the local weather guy is out there with the lunch meat and it "flash freezes" demonstrating how not to have any exposed flesh.

I had a friend of mine up for a visit from Bham AL in Jan maybe 13 years ago, he got off the plane we were walking to the car and I said "watch this" I spit, it hit the sidewalk and it froze instantly. He was amazed.

I was watching the weather channel one night a few years back, this lady was in International Falls, MN when it hit a record-setting -60*F. She had a cup of coffee in her hand for about a minute, still steaming, and then she threw it up in the air as high as she could.

It came down as coffee-snow.

Was stuck out on a site near Nekoma, ND back in the early 90's for about four hours. It was about -35, and I went through an entire 30-cup pot of coffee doing this.

Yes, I was bored.

The last time I went ice fishing in Perham, MN it dropped to -15F with a windchill of -37F and the one thing I noticed is that after it hits -5 you don't notice the change to -15 but it was kind of neat to watch the glass of water tossed into the air freeze instantly.
