I it's up and running but I don't want to anger the electronics gods. How long should I wait?

Depends on how many pornos you plan on watching.

Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:00:13 PM EDT
The film stuff? Take it off. The picture will look better.
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:00:56 PM EDT
I've let it disintegrate on it's own before.
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:01:31 PM EDT
87 seconds

Leave it on. It matches the plastic cover on your couch.

Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:02:27 PM EDT
10-15 seconds.
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:02:35 PM EDT
I take those off of everything immediately.
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:02:58 PM EDT
Mine is mounted and installed 100%. Then it comes off before turning on the TV
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:08:14 PM EDT
It is a FAP protector protector. I would leave it on,
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:11:45 PM EDT

Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:12:50 PM EDT
Zero seconds.
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:14:23 PM EDT
It drives me nuts when people leave the protective film on top of everything (understandable if you may return it still, but it's stupid for normal use).
Link Posted: 11/28/2014 11:14:59 PM EDT
Before it gets turned on, this goes for any electronics.

When I ran the pawn shop, I got a kick out of the people who brought them in with the manufacturer decals still on the screen.

It doesn't matter if it's off for returns. Do you keep the remote and batteries in their plastic wrap too? Lol

I usually mount, power up, run through settings etc, then remove the plastic.

ETA: I am assuming this is the plastic on the bezel, have not seen a display with plastic on the screen in more then 5 years (I install tvs for a living)

And the plastic on the lampshades, too! You need to stick with the theme!

Holy crap, this is stuff my dad does.

Remodeled the kitchen, high end ovens and fridge.. the plastic that covers the control panel he wont remove because he doesnt want it to get scratched.

Did i mention the kitchen was done 5 years ago

Ever time i go over there it bugs me to no end, especially now theyre all worn out, and theres a nice shiny piece underneath.

My Dad's phone and laptop both have the plastic on them. He removed the one covering the screen, all the rest remain.

His laptop is several years old and the plastic on the back of the monitor is all dirty and dog eared. Every time I go over there, I slowly peel it back another 1/4in or so. Drives him nuts.
