I went to college in Forrest County Mississippi (so named after him) at the University of Southern Mississippi.
I say jolly good funny. It is next to Jones County which succeeded from the Confederacy to be the Free State of Jones,  no shit.

For some reason I do not doubt that one minute. From what I understand the Klan started as a fraternal organization of CSA veterans. It wasn't until blacks got wierded out by the ghost costumes that people ran to join it. IIRC Forrest was unhappy with what he started. |

I think that still raises the Onion's troll level to a God-tier not achieved by anyone else. Maybe the BBC's April Fool's "Spaghetti Tree Harvest" newsreel clip. |
