I pay $1200/month and my co-pay is equivalent to the cash price.

If I die, I hope it's a long drawn out process.

I hope you want to die, and don't want to be comfortable while doing so.

Thanks Obama.

In New Jersey, in my case, Atenea was a bit less expensive then BC/BS but had a considerably smaller book of in-network doctors.

UT may be a completely different situation.

Our company insurance uses the Aetna doctor's network.  I have nothing but good things to say about it really. I can see any specialist or doctor I want to and our negotiated rates are pretty good and our co-pays etc will vary depending on your negotiated plan.

Like I said though, I've had no problems with their network.  No bullshit and never been turned back for anything.

My employer has several health insurance companies and who you get depends on what region you are in, I was un lucky to get aetna. My doc disliked them as well, his words, oh I see you are now with aetna, your treatment will change since we have to be careful with them, the like to deny claims. fuckers. was my response.
They nit picked everything even down to bloodwork I have done once a year as part of a complete physical. I ended up paying higher out of pocket fees and fees I never had to pay before.

Then there is the health assessment, LOL now that's a fucking joke and they think then they can stick their noses into your personal life, fuck you was my reply to that phone call.

Enrolment for 2016 and there is no aetna but now I am assigned to anthem bcbs, be interesting to see how they are.

My wife has gotten very good at arguing with them over billing.

Sometimes it takes a fair amount of effort to get them to pay.

I hate them.  They have had my wife in tears.  My daughter goes to a specialist that every year we have to get their okay to use because he's not in network and there isn't another specialist that does this in network.  Fine, every year they look at last years communication and approve it.  This year send them the bill, they say okay, then follow that up with an email a week later saying he's not in network so they are not paying.  Wife calls to straighten it out, they say opsy, go ahead and resend it.  Get an email a week later say he is not in network so they are not paying...  I believe they played this game 5 times before finally paying.  During one of the exchanges they sent us a $500 check to help till they fixed it.  Then turned around and said don't cash it, which we didn't.  Two weeks ago they sent us a letter saying they were going to send us into collection for the $500 we owe them.  Wife calls, they can see that we didn't cash it and tell us we need to send them some extra paper work to request this be closed.  She explained that the only reason we were sent the check was because they fucked repeatedly, now are doing so again so they need to figure out their mess.

I've had to go to our insurance reps at work in the past to get their help in resolving other similar issues.  I don't like them one bit.

I had Aetna for several decades at my job, it was the best medical insurance I've ever had.  Most medical insurance policies have a maximum lifetime benefit (such as $1 million), but my Aetna policy didn't.  I had a motorcycle accident that cost more than that, and I was out about $2k out of pocket.  The company I worked for was sold, I then had BCBS of TX, it was terrible coverage and was expensive.  But I'm sure that was the package the new company picked, not the fault of BCBS of TX.  Now that I'm retired, I'm back on Aetna retiree medical insurance, a benefit of being on it before.  Premiums are high now, but within range of everyone else or even slightly lower.  I'll stay with Aetna until I'm old enough for Medicare.

Been with Aetna for about 8 years now.

I've had a knee surgery and an elbow surgery. My wife's had two surgeries as well, and we have kids too.

They've been excellent. I really have no complaints. Each time we had anything wrong that required more than routine doctor's visits, Aetna has paid up, and had nurses follow through with us to make sure we were happy with whatever procedures were done.

Seeing specialists hasn't been an issue, and I've yet to have a doctor complain about them.

I've got Aetna thru my wife's employer.....

7 months ago I hurt my arm and went to the Dr....got a shot in it, prescription meds....and X-rays to confirm it wasn't broke.

within 3 months the walk in clinic was sending a bill for over $400.....

2 months ago the clinic called and said I needed to call Aetna.  Aetna was telling the clinic I don't have them that I have some other Ins. company....???  WTF?

I have been too busy to call them to straighten it out.

Why in the blue fuck Aetna would do that is beyone me....it's none of their God damned business who I have except them......

Pay the fucking bill Aetna...

I just wish there was some way I could charge them $1,000 for fuckups that require my time beyond paying the damned premium..

We're on BCBS now but switching back to Aetna next year. I haven't looked at the plans yet. I don't recall any real problems when we had them before.

Must not be Humana, as that sale will have to be approved and integration plans implemented.   End of 2016 to early 2017 is when things should start changing.  Commercial will have the most impact from the sale upon Humana.

My old Aetna plan was/is awesome.  I am paying $180/month.  Last month, I got a letter stating that I would no longer have coverage in 2016.  This month I got a letter that I WILL have the same coverage, at $411/month starting 2016.  They were good though for over 10 years.

I am now going to be on the wife's plan, United, for much less.

Who?   BC/BS is more of a franchise.   Actually, it is an association of several independent companies.

Horizon BC/BS.

We looked at Anthem/WellPoint but they have a very small network at this point (kid's pediatrician was not on it).

This thread is relevant to my interests.

My employer currently has BC/BS of Illinois, but after the first of the year, it will be Aetna.
