For non-online gaming, will recycle the keyboard and mouse and pick out monitor later.  Haven't built from scratch before...unsure about extra cooling devices and details.   Newegg prices of course, will shop around on the big items before placing an order.  Figure this saves the price of a RRA upper vs. Velocity Micro.  Might also cause me to and in frustration

Thanks for the help guys, I have to admit being confused by the AMD nomenclature.  Was trying to get something dual core (not sure why exactly) but if a "faster" single core is better then no problem.  After trying to get up to speed on computer-specifc forums I've concluded that our tech forums are pretty damn good.

The floppy drive is just in case there are drivers that can't be installed any other way, maybe that doesn't happen any more these days.  More money for ammo!

I'd second Kirk's reccommendations....

Also, the Sonata II is a great case...I love Antec products.

One other bit of advice...check out what Newegg has to offer in Sata 3G drives as oppposed to 1.5. For maybe $25 more bucks you can double your throughput.

Good points on both.

I use the Sonata II almost exclusively for builds.  It's that good.

Sata II/3 Gbs drives are well worth the money IMO.  I also suggest going XP Pro <-- just a recommendation.
