From article:
A court martial on Wednesday acquitted a US Marine for his role in the deaths of 24 civilians in Haditha in Iraq in 2005, the sixth man to be exonerated in the affair, a military official said. Lieutenant Andrew Grayson, 27, was declared "not guilty on all charges" by a jury, said a spokesman for the Camp Pendleton military base in southern California where the hearing started on May 28.

US Marine acquitted of all charges in Haditha killings

And let's not forget what Murtha said about our soldiers...

"There was no firefight. There was no IED that killed those innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood."
--- John Murtha (Democrat Congressman from Pennsylvania)

My understanding is that the marines are suing Murtha. Murtha's defense is that his comments were made in the context of the Iraq war debate and thus his congressional immunity applies. Did you know that Congressman or Senator can say any damn thing they want about you from the floor of congress and you have no recourse?

However, Murtha made his comments outside of the congress and he is attempting to get congressional immunity expanded to include statements made related to congressional business.

Paging John Murtha......Congressman Murtha, please pick up the white courtesy phone........AND GO TO HELL.

God Bless our troops.

Nevertheless, Murtha and his supporters can point out that OJ Simpson was acquitted, yet nobody is apologizing to Simpson for wrongly accusing him.

The system worked...

I would hope that we continue to allow it to work...

Exonerate the innocent...

Punish the guilty....

This whole thing was B.S. Monday Morning Quarterbacking and in my opinion the system did not work it screwed some Good Marines. Oh sure, they were acquitted of all charges, but they'll never recover from the horrible stress and harm this has done to them and their families.

The enlisted will never view the Marine Corps in the same way again and the Officers are done. Simply put any Officer tied in any way no matter how small to this incident will never advance to a significant rank. So any thought these Marines or even those Officers connected to them may have had of having a life long career in the Marines is gone.

So many people in the media, the Congress, the military, and even here were ready to through these men under the bus. The system in this case failed and this whole thing should have never got as far as it did, but we all know why it did don't we.

+1

You have to be delusional to think the system worked. You can't win a war when you trust the enemy and reporters for Time Magazine over your own troops. But in this case, our spineless cowardly "leaders" decided to believe the enemy and liberal reports and put our troops on trial. PATHETIC.

SOMEONE should have had the balls to stop this. If it took Jorge Boosh himself stopping it then that's what should have been done. But of course he wouldn't stop it. El Presidente allows his good buddy Johnny Sutton to put Border Patrol agents on trial for defending them selfs.

This is no different than liberals putting the police on trial when they had to defend them selfs against thugs. We all get mad when that happens. But somehow, for some reason, Neo Con's seem to think it's ok to put Marines and Border Patrol on trial when they have to do the same thing. Why is that? Is it because they profit from illegal immigration? Is it because they also profit from a war that never ends? You can't profit from illegal immigration if the Border Patrol stops your underpaid slaves from coming into the country. You can't continue to profit from a war if your Marines are killing the enemy.
