Does ANYONE in media ever bother to EVER check a FACT before they publish something?

Sheeple: "Why, I saw it on televison so it *must* be true."

<insert string of filthy, paint peeling profanity here>

"Gunsmith Justin Davis holds a Ruger mini-14 rifle, illegal to manufacture under the assault weapons ban."

Also from the article:  "The law's chief sponsor, Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, is urging retailers not to sell the disputed weapons, while hoping for a change in the nation's political climate."

Yeah, right.

The Ruger Mini-14 is legal to manufacture for civilians in its 5rd mag, and non-flash supressor mode and confirms to the '94 AWB standards, but then the LE version dubbed the AC556 with the flash suppressor, bayo lug, and 20 rd mag is not.

Yep, those journalist-types ain't too bright about anything really technical.

Beat me to posting this.

Here's a screenshot -

I'm emailing the shit out of CNN, AP and Ruger about this, and I'm going to press like hell on the AP and Reuters, AND the NRA, to find out who is responsible for this uninformed crap and WHY after 10 FUCKING YEARS OF THE AWB, no one in Media & Politics seems to know what the fuck the law is, and nobody at the NRA has managed to educate them OR hold them accountable.

I've fucking HAD it with Liberal political lies.

Here's another good line...

"It banned the sale of 19 specific semiautomatic weapons and ammunition clips of 10 rounds or more."

I didn't look at it closely, but the Mini-14 the man is hold is illegal to manufacture, 30rd mag.

Nyet. The 30-round magazine does not make the rifle illegal. True, this could be a pre-ban Mini-14, but the implication of the caption is that, in general, the Ruger Mini-14 was illegal to manufacture for 10 years.

Feinswine said, "I just didn't know how craven the gun manufacturers would be."

Funny...we've been thinking the same thing about you and your comrades this past decade...

And just to be sure to complete their warping of reality, AP and CNN post another front page article at the same time, right now, about crime rates holding at an all-time low. Just to be sure ANY gun-crime can be spun as an uptick in crime / the fault of the AWB being allowed to lapse.
They cite a DOJ Bureau of Justice Statistics report 'Criminal Victimization, 2003' just release - ON A SUNDAY -
They managed to release the 2002 report on Aug.24 last year. How nice of them to stretch 3 weeks and coincide the crime report with the AWB termination.
Sure as hell - Media and DOJ are BOTH laying the groundwork for future politicking for a new AWB.
