substantially improves patterning

yeah no shit, a 32 inch barrel improves tightens the pattern

LOL.....could you actually picture some guy out there dove hunting with one of those things?

It would be like an ATV/Dirtbike with a flourescent orange flag.

That thing is a freaking flag pole.

ETA: "Metro" Extension.....figures....lol
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:11:34 PM EDT
dats a HUGE barrel
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:24:17 PM EDT
1.1 pounds in front of the barrel would fuck up the swing a tad.
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:26:05 PM EDT
now that is DEFINATELY compensating for something
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:29:57 PM EDT
Lockedon, you beat me to it.
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:39:20 PM EDT
if you rigged up a mag extenion it would hold 30 rounds
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:41:19 PM EDT
It should come with a little red flag on the end that says "BANG!"
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 10:42:14 PM EDT
$194?!!??

you can play golf with that thing....

That sumbitch is gonna leave powder burns on the target.

Build it and bubba will buy it.

Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:12:57 AM EDT
And if you put a bayonet on the end it doubles as a spear.....
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:15:07 AM EDT
It would take a long case and wouldn't fit in the safe
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:15:54 AM EDT

fully ported, screw-in barrel extension reduce the report of your shotgun by as much as 50% (more when using subsonic loads),

Hmmmmm um suppressor??? if a a flash suppressor can be deemed a sound suppressor I'm sure this thing can/will be....

I think it is used for hunting near urban areas as it reduces the noise...

as far as improving the patern i have no doubt. every damn shot will be point blank range.

Sure, but spent shot will just kinda dribble out of the end.

Does it come with a bi pod attech point? Jeez, and I thought the 34"+ goose guns of the old days looked funny.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:24:17 AM EDT
I figured the link would go to this, which is also from cabelas:

tag, that there is some funny shit
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:28:56 AM EDT
Please note: the description says it's a 32" extension - so you might well take to the field with a 60" (5 foot) barrel, meaning that you'd have a 6 1/2 - 7' fowling piece. Welcome to 1744.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:33:36 AM EDT
That would turn some heads at a turkey shoot.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:38:21 AM EDT
I bet that can shoot a plane out the sky!
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 4:48:51 AM EDT
Just the thing for going to Spot Shoots.

I've seen guys show up with shotguns over 7' long, equipped with high-end scopes.

Old news on the bbl extension. The Vulcan arms speshul forces model has the silencer barrel extension, drum mag conversion, NCstar red dot and a mag lite hose clamped to the barrel

Now if an enterprising photoshopper could only make that happen

Two questions: WHY and WHY??

The whole thing was brought about by a bunch of whiny libs who were pissed off at hunters using shotguns to kill deer and other critters out east. One enterprising guy tried to make a shotgun silencer without having ATF classify it as a suppressor. This way the soccer moms dont have to hear the shotty discharge.

Add a pistol grip and light and you're ready to go tactical with that booger.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 6:20:49 AM EDT
That is also called a "bloop tube" and it is an old poacher's trick. The report on the shotgun is definately reduced to the point where it doesn't scream "gunshot".

It would be perfect for golf courses, actually. Using it to pick off the damn geese that cover the golf courses around here, that is.

From all the negative reactions I have to guess you guys are just...jealous

You should see the patterns my 40yd long bbl makes!
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 6:31:24 AM EDT
I don't know why y'all think it's so funny - it's old news, and serves a useful purpose. Patterns great, tones down the sound - perfect for suburban hunting.

Like someone said above, it would be perfect for golf-course geese.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 6:43:35 AM EDT
It'd be hard to keep that thing inside the blind. And you'd have to have an 8 ft bed pickup to transport it...

Could it be chargeable as an unregistered sound suppressor?

Heh, it's the anti-SBS.

No. ATF already ruled it NOT a suppressor.

As some have noted, this is a special purpose item for shooting geese in suburban environments, on golf courses, etc. where noise complaints are an issue. For that special purpose, it does the job as intended.

One other added benefit, you will definitely NOT stop your swing and fail to follow through.

Even so, a longer barrel, to a point, results in less noise; for example - a 16" .308 vs. a 20". By that reasoning switching to a longer barrel on your MRP would be adding a suppressor.
Link Posted: 9/8/2005 7:32:43 AM EDT
You could do contact gun shots on the geese.

Careful, FAA might make you put terrain avoidance strobes on the end, so planes won't hit the end sticking up.

I'm crying from this one. I actually had thought it was a joke "link" of some sort.
