There seems to be a need for a few parts of communism in our government, if there wasn't, then why do we have them? I mean, the .gov is involved in some way with every aspect of our lives. From Birth certificates to death certificates to taxes in between. Every item I have within reach has been either taxed, , certified, catagorized, ID'd, inspected, regulated or has had some government involvement. I mean between the FDA, FCC, BaTF, alone they got 90% of the items on my desk marked. Not to mention our economy is the product of the New Deal which was the start if big government spending in an effort to stimulate the economy after other efforts to do so failed.

Then there is the welfare, social security, etc.

So is it necessary to have a little bit of communism? IS what I speak of really communistic? How would we exist without it? How would the country work without all this?

No, not at all. It is necessary to have a harder work ethic, better values and true competitive drive that makes this country the supreme land on this earth, and to increase that competitive drive and minimize any reliance on the government where at all possible.

Unfortunately I was raised by democrats, educated in public schools, and brought up to believe that "freedom" meant being able to do whatever vile form of self destruction I please.

What is freedom? I truly do not know the answer. I have come this far in my self education, but i am unable to comprehend what was originally intended.

No, communism sucks. Millions upon millions of deaths have proven that communism is a total failure.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is one of the government's most important functions.

Then why do we have it here in our country? I know full blown communism is a failure, but we are not that far away from it ourselves here, at least when it comes to the level of government involvment in our lives.

How do we change it and what are the ideals that we should strive for?

What should our government's functions be?

nod to da bunny on standards..

Savage made an interesting comment on his show tonight "Their is no difference in the partys the Dems are on the fasttrack to Socialism and the Republicans are on the A-train" end result is the same. We need 3rd and 4th party opposition and choice yesterday. We also need the GOP to grow balls and expand Iraq conflict, turn Syria and Iran into parking lots, deregulate the oil and gas industry, and start repealing gun laws. Also it would help the GOP to gain distance from the extreme religous right. Our problems have been and will continue to be our problems because the GOP wants to be cordial and reach out. True the Dims marginalize themselves at every turn but it is not fast enough. If Hillary is going to run this country in 3 years I would at least like more options in guns and cheaper gas.

I think most whiny liberal craptards should be deported there too. Since they threaten to move to Canada anyway, you know.

No it is not necessary, we were able to get along fine without it for 150 years. The the New Deal came along and now we have a whole set of people that are completely dependent on the hardwork of others.

Freedom is being able to do whatever you want, but being responsible about the choices you make.
