In an effort to find some comfort tonight. I was reading through a book I have about Green Berets in Vietnam. There was a section discussing Martha Raye, how tough she was and how much the troops loved her. When she came over on a visit to Vietnam, she saw a sign a soldier had in his bunker that said "FUCK COMMUNISM". She asked if she could have it and the soldier handed it over. She took it home with her and placed it on the door on her "war room", where she kept all of her military goodies.

A few years later a reporter was visiting her home. The reporter saw the sign and made the comment, "isn't that utterly disgusting"? Well, Maggie, being a very free speaker preceeded to give this reporter a tongue-lashing on an ass ripping, using words that would make a sailor blush and told her to get her ass out of her house.

Inspired by such a simple, yet brutally effective statement, I created my own sign for my den. It is now proudly displayed just above the door for all to see who ever enter. It simply reads: FUCK TERRORISM. And it's painted in bright red letters against a white background, and laminated. So it will be there until I am no longer here and someone else removes it or until there is no need to display it any longer.  But for me, it's some small way to contribute my thoughts and feelings to the matter. Like the similar sign helped motivate a young soldier to fight, motivated and inspired an actress/comedian and offended a member of the press, my simple sign and statement is my small contribution to the situation that will hopefully motivate me and remind me every single day to keep up the fight against terror....using whatever means necessary, even if for me that is only taking the time to reflect and utter under my own breath, "fuck terrorism". It doesn't make me forget the 200 dead kids who weren't given a chance. It doesn't make me forget 9/11 and the 3000 countrymen we lost. It doesn't make me forget the soldiers who have died fighting against it. But simply saying "fuck terrorism" does make me feel slightly better and carries on within me the will to continue fighting and resisting it.

Now I can only hope that someday a reporter will come here to interview me and make the mistake of commenting on how distasteful mt sign is. I have a pre-prepared statement to use in such an event, but I'm afraid I can't share that here.

Rest easy bros. Never forget these kids. Never forget the lives lost on 9/11. Never forget our troops who are scattered around the world. But maybe most important of all, never lose your sanity. Channel your anger into something positive, whatever that is for you. Even if that is something as simple as an act of contempt and defiance that only a few will see (as with my sign), such an act can help keep us focused and on task. Though they may kill and maim, they can never change who we are. And as long as we are willing to carry on, they can never defeat us. So once again in closing I will utter these two words once more. FUCK TERRORISM.

Does it have the words "Piss off and die, you terminally-PC fuckwit!"?

Something very close to that, although SOCIALIST LOVING and ASSHAT will likely be wedged in there somewhere also.
