Until they CLOSE the borders and get tough on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.. it will get worse. What sucks is that there IS a racism brewing against Mexicans in general. Not all Mexicans are violent, criminal cop killers however the negative sentiment is growing against the majority of them which are hard working honest people.

What can we do? Be proactive and keep writing the politicians... keep on them BIG time about the immigration policies as well as President Bush.

I was born here. My parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were born here. I am a Native American. You only get one chance to be a native of anyplace, whatever your ethicity. People born in Germany are native Germans (whether they're citizens or not is another matter).

Did you ever notice how the people who contribute the least to society, the fewest tax dollars and the most crime are the ones screaming the loudest for reform.  I'd love to see background checks on the "La Raza racists".

Oh, if is was possible to get them to stop screaming racist crap and explain what EXACTLY they have contributed to improve California or America or even Mexico.  What makes "their way of life" better?  Is it the disease filled water systems and nonexistant sewer systems? Shoddy construction of their buildings? Almost nonexistant edcutational system? Low wages and crippling poverty? Maybe it was the system of elite land holders and peasants that is making their way of life so great? And where are they now?

Today, the very same leaders and operators of these groups who supported and even actively took part in violent insurrection, terrorism, riot and rebellion are now running University departments or are "respected" journalists and writers or serve as "civic leaders" or even elected officials and appointed judges all across the country. And they have not given up one bit of their hatred of America nor their intent to "Bring It All Down Man!" I was thinking about this the other night when I was watching the movie Dark Blue. If the media knew in advance that the city of LA would burn because of the massive coverage of the entire Rodney King "incident" do you think they would have gone through with it anyway? Mainly the constant replaying of the "beating" which seems to fuel the fire. The outcome of the charges against the officers was certainly the "straw that broke the camel's back" but it was because of the continuous coverage of the event that really fed the fire. If it had just been passed off as another night of police dealing with a drugged out asshole would riots have happened?

Knowing that there would be millions of dollars in damages, 50-60 deaths, 2,000 injuries, woudl the media act irresponsibly and follow through anyway, in the name of "free speech" and "the world needs to know"?

ETA: That last video I noticed a few things that kind of make me laugh. These ays everyone has a video camera... and they're all right on the line where the people are shouting vulgarities at the police. Like they're just waiting to get some video footage of a cops cracking someone's skull open so they have another reason to tear apart the city. The cops show incredible restraint at these events. I have a lt of respect for them because I coudl never hold back. I'd want to drive up with a pumper truck filled with pepper spray and hose the entire crowd down.

How's life in Kansas, Specop_007?  I was born there and got out in 1962.  The last couple of times I visited the Sunshine State I saw more in the way of black/white racial tension in Topeka than you can find in all but the worst parts of the LA area.  You've even got problems with illegal immigrants working in your fields and businesses.

MEChA and the Aztlan wackos have been around a long time, and they're not taking over.  If you are working under the assumption that people of Hispanic ethnic or racial heritage are of one mind, you are repeating one of the mistakes that killed Gray Davis's political career.  Funny how the far left and the far right so often end up saying the same things.

They do have a nice little festering mess up in Baldwin Park, but that has exactly zero effect on the daily lives of most people out here.  It's the kind of problem that needs to be fed attention like this, otherwise it will die on its own due to lack of interest.

If you want to spend your time and money on Charles Kirkby's cheesy right-wing propaganda CDs that is your prerogative, but they'll never have the lasting impact of Nikita Kruschev's We will bury you speech.  When I was in high school I learned that the father of a friend of mine used to watch that every morning just to get himself riled up enough to take on the day.  To each his own.
