I saw something about a drive by shooting in St. Louis with a stolen car.  There was a chase and the perps ended up bailing on foot after the car crashed.  It looked like the fingerprint guys were on scene but with our wet weather coming in, wouldn't it make more sense to transport the vehicle to the police garage.  Isn't moisture or rain really hard on recovering fingerprints?

The handling and touching needed to load and unload the car would be even more damaging to any prints.

They make a finger print powder which is suspended in a liquid which can be sprayed on the exterior of the vehicle.
