I started playing about 2 months ago, ive got an Action jump / break cue and a Joss shooting cue that my uncle gave me. Just wondering what cue you play with, if you have a table at home, if so what kind (ill be getting one next year) Im thinking about an Olhausen or Brunswick, and if your in VA where do you play? Thanks guys

olhausen here, it's one of the smaller ones, 7' i believe. couldn't fit anything bigger in the basement. it's pretty nice.

nice im not sure on the length, if a 9' will fit comfortabley ill get it if not ill go smaller.

Don't have a table at home... but I play with a Meucci, 19.5.

I had a 9 foot Brunswick at my old house (it's still there). No table at my current home. I have a pretty nice Viking cue, usually break with a house cue.

a 9' takes a ton of room, remember you want at least 4 feet or so in each direction around the table so you don't hit the wall with your cue stick as you're shooting.

Common pool table sizes for the USA are:
3.5' × 7' (1.06 m × 2.13 m) — Bar
4' × 8' (1.22 m × 2.44 m) — Home
4.25' × 8.5' (1.30 m × 2.60 m) — Commercial
4.5' × 9' (1.37 m × 2.74 m) — Tournament

"Regulation" size means it's twice as long as it is wide (measured at the inside edge of the bumpers). Therefore a regulation 8 foot table is 8x4, 9 foot is 9x4.5, etc...

+1 - The room mine was in was 22' x 35'. Sure wish I had a room that big nowadays!!! It had a concrete floor too - almost required with a quality table. Mine weighed just over 1200 lbs!

Olhausen

I use the generic sticks and the one my boss gave me for my birthday....I never play on it anymore and will probably sell it and make it a nice theater room.

Im pretty sure ill have room for whatever size i decide on, just cant decide what. and Gus how does the Viking play? i like the designs on a lot of their cues, but my next cue will be a Joss N-7 "The Color of Money Cue", a Meucci Hi-Pro 03, or a Balabushka vintage replica.
