And he's thinking about seeing if he can get it in a different caliber, possibly a .243.  He doesn't reload (yet, but I'm sure he will think about it now!), and he thinks .243 might be a touch cheaper.  What says everyone?  

ETA: It's an A-Bolt Medallion.  Definitely a nice firearm!

A Browning A-Bolt in .25-06 is an AWESOME gun.

He will love it.

agreed, i love my ARs but when it comes to hunting/sporting i always take the abolt

If I won that gun I would do a trade at my local shop for something else.

Remington standardized the 25-06 in 1969, and plenty of companies make ammo.

The 25-06 is an awesome caliber for game up to mule deer size.   I would much prefer that over a .243.
