Calvin Charles (CC) Johnson. My Great Uncle. Born 18 October 1844 in Hale County Alabama. Drafted (conscript) into the Confederate Army. He was wounded in the Battle of Seven Pines and the Battle of the Wilderness. Captured in Burksville, Virginia two days before Robert E Lee surrendered. He was sent to the Union Army Federal prison at Pt. Lookout, Maryland and paroled 16 June 1865. He drew a pension until he died on 8 Sept 1922. His wife - Sarah E McMurrain - born 25 May 1845 drew a widow's pension until she died on 18 March 1932.
Probably in the near future all the records in court houses - hospitals - etc will all be purged from history. This was close to 10 yrs research on my part. Hope you enjoy it.
