Soldier Arrested With Cache of Guns
AP

Police say a soldier who had been missing from Fort Riley has been arrested after being caught with four firearms and other weapons in his car.

Police say Private Joshua Glass had been missing for eight days before he was picked up Tuesday night in Abilene. Glass is in the infantry in the Second Squadron, Fourth Cavalry Regiment, Fourth Brigade Combat Team.

Abilene Assistant Police Chief Pat Soukup said Glass was arrested after military police said Glass may be in the area.

Glass was caught as he returned to his 2006 Ford Mustang from a store. Police said the contents of the vehicle included an AK-47 assault rifle, two loaded semiautomatic handguns, a loaded shotgun, ammunition clips and numerous knives.

Soukup said Glass indicated he'd planned to use the weapons.

A Fort Riley spokeswoman said Glass was released to his first sergeant, and that the troop commander will decide punishment.
