It's a rubber plug with a lanyard that you put around the wrist.  I need to bypass it.  It has two wires going to it:

Do the wires need to be joined to complete the circuit, or separated to break the circuit?

It's on a Kolpin 90CC  if that matters.

You could always cut one and see if it still runs.

Its a switch. Its also DC voltage. Cut the two wires and wire nut them together.

Well, thats kind of the problem.  It stopped working, and upon looking at it, I noticed the emergency cut off switch was broken.  I don't even know if that was causing the original problem.

Yeah bypass it to see if it's bad, the plunger keeps the circuit closed letting it run,  removing breaks the circuit killing the spark. A dirt bike push button kill switch, grounds the circuit killing the spark.

If it has a black and green wire, leave it alone. Do not connect.

If they are both black, connect them together and see if it will run.

If it really only has two wires do  the following.

Cut them both loose from the back of the plug and try it.  If it runs great if not wire the ends together and try.

The plug/switch either holds the connection shut or open you only have two choices...My best guess is the plug holds the circuit open, pulling it closes the contacts and grounds the coil.

On the other hand if it has more then two wires your gonna need a wiring diagram or a volt meter to figure it out.

For anybody wondering:  It turned that the engine runs with: Wires Together, Circuit Complete.
