One or more of the rifles used in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry may have been traced back to Project Gunrunner.

AZ Central Story

In their zeal to compile an overwhelmingly ridiculous amount of evidence, the ATF may have allowed the illegally purchased weapons to make it all the way to Mexico. If they had just arrested the fuckers when they knew they were making straw purchases instead of waiting months and months to stop the illegal purchases, those guns wouldn't have found their way to Mexico into the hands of criminals.

If this is true, anyone who authorized or facilitated that should be treated as you or I would if we lost one of out guns and it was used in a homicide.

And how is that?

I am not trying to sound like I am on their side, I just don't know how I would be treated.  Would I be guilty of a crime if I lost my gun and someone else used it?

There has already been a great deal of concern surrounding the entire shooting incident with Agent Terry, from the bean-bag allegations and more.  It would appear that Project Gunrunner accomplished exactly the opposite of what they wanted it to do, and cost one of our agent's his life in the line of duty.

This situation is different because the illegal purchases were supposed to be "controlled".  If officers are trying to make a controlled delivery of narcotics, you better believe they are responsible for said narcotics.  The same applies here to illegally purchased weapons.

I can see that.  McLovin's statement was posed in a slightly different manner.

I can see some people who need to stand in the unemployment line if the guns were used but I am not sure about being held liable criminally without knowing the full operational plan.  Did the original straw purchase get them the evidence/ people they needed or did they need to follow the straw purchase into Mexico to get everyone involved identified?

ATF sanctioned the sale of hundreds of assault weapons to suspected straw purchasers, who then allegedly transported these weapons throughout the southwestern border area and into Mexico

HUNDREDS?

I'd heard about the ATF sanctioned smuggling, but not that it was hundreds. Awesome.

And then they get to blame US gun owners and dealers for it even though they authorized the transactions.

motherfuckers

I hope this will act as a final nail in the ATF's coffin.
