Thanx copterdoctor. Great source of ATF letters and law. I'd like to talk to the guys that posted the letters to verify authenticity. Please remember that some letters could predate changes in the law and are NOT law, just the ATF's position on it.

I have been using James Bardwells website for info for a few years. The ATF letters are legitimate, he keeps them updated as he gets them. To use the site as a reference you need to understand the current firearms laws as they apply. There are more sections to his website other than just the ATF letters.Check them all out here: NFA and other gun law related info and cases http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs.cmu.edu/user/wbardwel/public/nfalist/index.html

Bardwell's site is mirrored over on http://www.titleii.com. Mr. Bardwell hasn't been participating in the subguns.com forums for quite some time. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I believe he works for a law firm now and is not able to dispense advice freely any more. That's the myth anyway.
