For those of you who rely on AR for "serious purposes" which handgun do you rely on for same?

I rely on my Ruger Ranch Rifle in .223 for this purpose and a Kimber Custom Target in 45ACP (used to be a Colt until last year).  I may change the rifle to my AR soon as I become more comfortable with it.

Glock model 21C.  It a ported full size glock pistol chambered for the .45 acp cartridge.  Very accurate and very reliable.  It loves Federal 230 grain Hydra-shocks.

For real life self defense I'd go with an older pre-sellout S&W .38 Special DA fixed-sight revolver. A 4 inch Model 10 for general purposes, and a 5 shot snubby for carry.

Even if I thought a gang of assassins was after me, I think I'd still stick to these choices but make sure I had a rifle or shotgun (depending on where I was) handy at all times.

I really like the M1911 types, and see lots of neato modern autos, but the revolver just seems handier and more foolproof to me. Maybe if I was in a war and could not have a second weapon, then I'd go with the old M1911A1 for its greater firepower over a revolver.

DITTO!!

I've got a 92FS and a 96...
Both are box stock and perform flawlessly...
Only mod was factory Beretta rubber grip panels for the 96...
The wife shoots the 9mm, and I shoot the .40cal...
These guns are keepers...

A cap and ball revolver will soon compliment my AR15 for serious purposes.  Dont laugh, its all a 19 year old slave laborer, er, i mean resident of a People's Republic of Maryland can get.

Springfield M1A and Glock30... oh, which to go with the AR? Thats the wife's rifle so it would go with her Glock19.

Come on over to Virginia, we are "gun crazed" here, at least thats what the DC Mayor says.

ECS: The mayor of DC also says you have lots of whores over there.  I'll avoid such a crime ridden state, with all those guns and whores there has to be lots of crime. [;D] [puke] Dont worry, I'll be right over when college is done.  Please have guns and ammo waiting at the border.

I only have 2 but between my Beretta 92f or my Sig220,  I'd have to pick the SIG 220.

Colt Special Combat Government Competition .45 acp loaded with Federal Hydrashocks, Remington Golden Sabers or one of the high velocity Cor-Bon loads.

Makes a BIG, nasty hole.
