What kind of medical equipment does the various services have you guys carry? I imagine there are minimums, but do you have any leeway for extras?

In the Army in the mid 70's we had a small pack, and a large pack. The small one just had basic first aid supplies. The large one was like a suitcase with shoulder straps. Had splints, all kinds of bandages, suture kit, I.V. solutions, and stuff I don't remember anymore, it was so long ago. It was heavy and  bitch to carry, because you had your rucksack on also and it was diffcult to tie it securely to the rucksack. A lot of weight. That's why I was skinny then. I think only the 60 gunner carried more weight than a medic. Maybe the RTO
