That plane was almost sold to a buyer from Germany, but I heard they backed out. I hope it stays here in the states.

One of my relatives was one of the Doolittle Raiders and would make this even more special. 
By the way, there is no ball turret so you could go top turret

Airplanes are easy to buy. Old warbirds are pretty easy to buy. Keeping them isn't even too hard. Keeping them flying is a whole nuther problem.
Engines with warmed over parts that have been warmed over several times might run a while after they're off the test stand. Or not. Your main tool will be a network of people that know where all the parts are stashed. |
