That plane was almost sold to a buyer from Germany, but I heard they backed out. I hope it stays here in the states.

I so want that, I'm calling my bank tomorrow for a loan...shit, tomorrows Saturday. Oh well

One of my relatives was one of the Doolittle Raiders and would make this even more special.

By the way, there is no ball turret so you could go top turret

So, should it mount the six gun nose or the one with the 75mm tank gun?

That plane uses 75 gallons of fuel just on take off!
Link Posted: 7/23/2010 4:39:34 PM EST
IIRC, that 25 has changed hands a couple of times here as of late.
Link Posted: 7/23/2010 4:41:45 PM EST
Seems a little pricey to me, have to see what spares it comes with, maybe the history adds to the price...

Where did you get that from? It's highly doubtful, unless your "Takeoff" includes a climb to cruise altitude.

The direct operating cost seems to be in the neighborhood of $1000-$1500 per hour, which is the same as a small corporate jet.

I don't think so. It's been based at the same airport for at least the last five years that I know of. Unless of course the new owners kept it there.

A B-25?

Nah, I'd rather have the B-26; a better bird, in my opinion.

Aw hell... this thing is at KRVS. I see her flying around all the time. Hell of a sight.
