okay so I want to hear from arfcom doctors who are suspicious of government bullshit.

I get my kid the shots because i have seen no evidence telling me not to.
What do the non libtard DOCTORS think.

what about flu shots?

There's no reason to not immunize, unless you want your kid to be vulnerable to shitty diseases that are entirely preventable.

Of course, they also install mind control and tracking RFID chips when they immunize, but you gotta take the bad with the good, right?

If you don't immunize, you are a tinfoiler. Yes, it's black and white.

Immunize...the flu shot is also a good idea esp. if you are very young or very old.

Not gonna happen. There are NONE on arfcom. Gee, do your own reading, decide on your own if you can cure your children if they acquire one of the immunizable diseases. (What are your polio support facilities?)

Not a doc, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but...

Get your kids vaccinated.

I harbor no suspicions concerning childhood (and even adult) vaccination programs, including the influenza vaccines. Modern vaccines are low risk –– so please get your kids immunized! (It's a lot better than the alternative of having your kids contract what are essentially preventable infectious diseases).

I'm not an MD, but probably a bit more qualified in respect to your question ... Ph.D. microbiologist / bacterial pathogenesis specialist and former faculty member (microbiology & immunology) at an east coast medical school (which shall remain nameless).

This website (http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/) is a good information resource for answering basic questions.

Loosen the tin foil ... there are no conspiracies –– as far as our Gov't is concerned –– surrounding the safety & efficacy of vaccines approved for use in the US. Also, it's a relatively low-margin profit center for those companies engaged in manufacturing vaccines (relative to most other pharmaceutical products peddled by drug makers), so there's no incentive for the manufacturers to "pay off" the politicians to keep quiet about anything.

The only time I've had the flu was when I got the shot. I stopped getting it when I was fourteen and haven't had the flu since. Really makes me wonder and I'm not a tinfoiler by any stretch. ymmv

I'm an ARFRN.
I couldn't care less what you do, but do your own research.
My family does not do any vaccines anymore.
YMMV

Standard, "non changing every year" (DTAP, MMR, Hep A, Hep B) vaccines are very safe. seasonal vaccines have been shown to be almost as safe.

Don't forget... you are protected by "herd immunity" even though you don't get the vaccine yourself.

and if the reference to herd doesn't equate to sheeple for you, you've got even bigger problems since you're not the alpha wolf.

I don't have enough information to really comment too much, but my thoughts...

I believe in immunizations. I don't think that throwing all of them together in one shot is a great idea. For me personally, I've never felt the need for a flu shot. If some folks want them, then go right ahead.

I'm glad my parents immunized me when I was little. This country has far too many 3rd worlders running around with only God knows what in them. That should be more than enough motivation to get your kids immunized.

Herd immunity only works if the number of unprotected people in the herd is below a certain threshold, varying based on the way a disease is transmitted.

FWIW Immunize  yes

Flu Shots yes also.   However speak to your child's doctor about getting the MECURY FREE vaccines.  Flu shots carry very high levels of mercury (Thimerosal) something like 50,000 parts per billion compared to acceptable levels of 2 parts per billion in  drinking water. You should also consider Mercury free for yourself and other family members.

It is available for the asking, costs about an additional 5 dollars.

Immunization is important for our health, and there are some risks involved. But its a greater benefit.

Consider this, here in Arizona Canine Parvovirus is rampant and is easily contracted by puppies. It pretty much can be found in any back yard. It is almost always 100% lethal to puppies and about the same lethality for adult dogs. However it can be prevented through vaccination and yearly booster shots.

I'm not comparing our children to dogs, however prior to the discovery of vaccines children and the elderly were devastated  (first to die) and in today's society as a result of proper vaccine inoculations  it's an uncommon occasion for large number of deaths.

Why would you want to get the flu shot ?

The others I can see some argument for.

The body is designed to fight stuff like the flu off on its own, you want to build up your immune system to the point where it can resist bacteria.

By using the shot you aren't letting the body do its job.

What happens if a seriously bad virus comes out and they can't make a working vaccine, and your body isn't used to fighting stuff off ?

I might see the point for the really young, or old, or maybe if you're going to Africa or something but the average healthy person ? No thanks.

BTW I've known people who got the flu shot and still ended up with some nasty flu's. I know one or two cases doesn't mean much in the large scheme, but it makes you wonder.

I've been immunized for all kinds of odd diseases over the years and I survived.  Spent 26 years working for the government and they gave me vaccinations for all kinds of nasties.

Then I see all these people I worked with who refused the shots and ended up getting measles, chickenpox, hepatitis and whooping cough when they could have been protected.  It was a nasty environment I worked in down in Arizona with illegals carrying diseases always starting outbreaks.

my chart looks quite different from yours....

whose is actually fact?  Why didn't you include a chart for the current, actual threshold levels? Would that not play into your propaganda that we are beyond succeptable levels?
but I was just messing around with my post. thought that was obvious, but you guys are being super cereal.

Definitely NO on the flu shot.... By admission those that make the vaccine are only GUESSING at what strain will be active for any given flu season. Some have adverse reaction to the shot not getting the actual flu but still get sick to some degree which may not have happened had they not gotten the shot for a strain of flu which may later turn out to have not been in the chemical cocktail they recieved, in which case they are getting the flu anyway and just for shit & giggles got to be sick over the original shot which in the above example was of dubious value anyway. Just my .02.
